Jess Koehler grew up at the base of the Adirondack Mountains in central New York. For the first 15 years, she and her little brother were raised by a single mom living in government municipal housing. Although most of her peers became great teachers and chose to remain local, Jess had a calling to explore the world.
Her passion for photography began in high school and quickly developed into a full time study throughout college. The first in her family to graduate college, she received her BFA in Advertising Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
After photographing throughout multiple countries and the US, she has chosen Los Angeles as base camp for its rich cultural diversity and ever expanding global influence. She loves connecting with people and creating images that capture truth and hope in the situations.
Her mission is to be a visual voice of cultures wanting to be heard, where stories need to be told and a humanity that must be shared.
